In this process we distinguish between part I and the follow-up part II.
To participate in part I, a student must have level A2.
It is intended for students who want to take the NT2 state examination at B1 level and want to raise their level of the Dutch language in speaking, writing, reading and listening to B1 level.
With a language level B1 certificate, a participant meets the integration requirement and can follow a course at MBO level.
In concrete terms, it concerns students who do not speak Dutch as their mother tongue and want to prove that they are enough mastered at the Dutch language in order to take part in work or training.
Part II is intended for students who want to pass the NT2 state examination at B2 level and want to raise their level of the Dutch language in speaking, writing, reading and listening to B2 level.
To participate in program II, a student must have language level B1.
Met een diploma op taalniveau B2 voldoet een cursist evens aan de inburgeringsplicht en kan hiermee een opleiding volgen op Mbo, Hbo of Wo niveau.
With a certificate at language level B2, a participant meets the civic integration requirement and can follow a course at Mbo, Hbo or Wo level.
Important elements in this section are grammar, spelling, reading comprehension, pronunciation etc. Themes that are addressed here are education, immigration, emotion, relationships and etc.
We also pay a lot of attention to speech performance, such as short presentations.
Finally, the participant exercises with assignments and sample examinations for the state examination part I.
The student learns about 700 new words and themes that are addressed here are education, immigration, positive, social and etc.
In dit onderdeel gaan we dieper in op alle onderdelen, in het specifiek op het onderdeel grammatica. We behandelen werkwoorden als ‘zullen’, ‘zou’, ‘er’, relatieve zinnen, conjuncties, adverbia e.d.
In this section we will go deeper into all parts, specifically in the grammar section. We practice verbs as ‘will’, ‘would’, ‘there’, relative sentences, conjunctions, adverbs and etc.
We work on the components reading, speaking, writing on the basis of the standard in principle, but also on the basis of sources on the internet, in newspapers and video material.
We go deeper into speech performance, such as long presentations.
Finally, the participant exercises with assignments and sample examinations for the state examination part II.
For the state examination program, in principle, we work with two recognized teaching methods at Start met Taal, namely with “Nederlands in Gang” for students who follow part I and “Nederlands op niveau” for course participants who follow program II.
The intention is that we eventually switch to one teaching method, this depends on the experience and progress of the students and teachers with the teaching material.
The teaching methods consist of various themes with exercises aimed at practice and include e-learning, where we use a computer.
The emphasis is on grammar, spelling, expansion of vocabulary and speaking, writing, reading and listening skills.
Duration of Process
The NT2 state exam lasts on average at least 6-12 months.

Furthermore, for all levels, the groups are kept small (with a maximum of 10 students) and homogeneous.
Additionally, the student will receive three sessions per week, including a half-hour break. A student has nine lessons per week.
